I'm getting the error: 913 when I try to open POS. I have 2 register, so I've switch the receipt printer cables and drawer to the other system and the hardware works fine. I've put it back on the original system and I'm still getting the error. Both systems have the receipt printer marked as shared in manager. I did see another message out here that said to reinstall the printer. Should I? and if so, how do I do that?

If You check an earlier thread I posted, you can see the experiences I had with a similar problem. I found it to be a software problem (either RMS, OPOS) or both. My only solution was to uninstall my OPOS software (from control-panel ADD/REMOVE Programs), then uninstall microsoft RMS (from same control-panel ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS), then reinstall both again.
Your problem may not be as severe as mine. If you are using OPOS to run your receipt printer/ cash drawer, then you should be able to test your setup outside of the RMS environment, using your the OPOS software you have. If your printer-drawer is even failing directly via OPOS, then you may have no easy alternative other than trying my method.
Regards.
