new configuration

ok..I am soo frustrated with this..I have been sent out to do this with no training...I have installed RMS on 2 machines..right now I just have the one up and running but when I am trying to configure the register I am lost..I have it as register one but this is also the machine that has the SQL database on it too. I have an epson tm-t88IV printer. a pole display. and a scanner. I cant find the drivers for these things. but mostly I cant configure them I thought I did but I keep getting a dialog box that says something about receipt format in journal???

please help...

also I am going to plug in the other machine...I just have to point it too the share in program files right?

First set up your printer drivers. If it came with windows drivers, use those. Make the printer name in Windows something easy.

RMS wants to know what receipt TEMPLATE you want to use... go into DATABASE/REGISTERS/RECEIPT FORMATS and set up the template for your 40 column receipt. It is usually best to use the RECEIPT.XML to start. You can tweek the format like, do you want the customers name,your logo, etc etc.

go to DATABASE/REGISTERS/REGISTERLIST setup screen, on the printer tab screen...type in your printer NAME for printer one and tell it to JOURNAL them (saves a copy). Also specify that you want to use the receipt template you just set up.

I did everything myself with no "partner" because I bought it on eBay. You CAN do it all by yourself, but it is a steep learning curve. Everyone expects you to pay a partner to do everything...that is the way the system is set up...but you can do it!

A test print from Windows? or RMS?

Try to print to it from Windows. If it will not..then problem between printer interface/driver. Get tech help from printer people.

get it printing in Windows first them go to RMS.
