Opos setu problem Epson TM88IV

Jun 26, 2007 2 Replies

Hi, Having problems setting up an Epson TM88IV printer to work through Opos drivers.

The printer is a serial printer and there are no serial ports on the pc so it is being used with a pl2303 usb-serial driver which creates an entry under com3.

When testing in Opos I am getting the following error message

Claim(5000) = 106 Result code extended = 10016

I'm using 2.50 sp6 of the opos drivers but I have also tried SP10 with the same result. I have followed the KB for setting up Epson printers but I have never had a problem setting up anything in Opos before although this is the first time we have used a USB to serial adapter.

Is there anything special we have to do or does anyone have any ideas on whats causing this?

V2.0

Thanks Matt

Matt, Dude! On Epson's TM series the connection jack is a module that can be replaced in about 2 seconds! They make a serial, parallel and USB module. They are $45 to $60, which is a lot cheaper than pulling your hair out! PS, I use USB for EVERYTHING and it makes things sooooo easy to set up!
