technical error on settled edc

I setteled a batch of credit card transactions and it came bach with 1 technical error. I have been using RMS for about 2 months now and never have seen this problem. I have accepted and settled all types of transactions in the past with success, but yesterday i settled again and have a another technical error. Am I going to get funded from the transaction? How do I solve this problem? someone please help

Were the transactions that gave you this error, AMEX or Discover?

you need to void the transaction with the technical error. Then re-sell it as a force (use the same approval code) provided you are forcing it within the same business day, as approval codes expire. If it is the next business day, you need to re-sell it and get a new approval code. Then settle your batch.

We had this problem immeadiately after upgrading to SP3 also. It turns out that we got an approval code off a bad swipe. It only read 13 digits and approved it, but it did not settle.

If this is the same type of problem for you, change your tender validation to the following type of scheme:

Visa: 4############### MC: 5############### Discover: 6############### AmEx: 3##############

I suspect that something may have got fudged up as the latest SP changed the internal coding for the approval routine a bit.
